MATCH SUMMARY .
The success acquired last weekend against PSG (1-0) during the big clash between the leaders of D1 Arkema would not have been with much benefit without a follow-up result this Sunday in Soyaux. Now the sole leaders of the championship with three lengths ahead of Les Parisiennes, the players of Jean-Luc Vasseur had therefore the desire to improve upon their previous victory by doing the same in the final match of this 10th matchday. And as they so often have, things worked out in the end.
OL, who welcomed the return from suspension of Wendie Renard but were forced to play this match without Eugénie Le Sommer, Jessica Silva and Sally Julini, all injured, were not slow in taking the lead thanks to the inevitable Ada Hegerberg, who popped up at the back post to convert a pass by Marozsan (10 ', 0-1). Then, with a hint of luck, Nikita Parris doubled the lead before the break (36 ', 0-2).
After the break, the visitors could thank Sarah Bouhaddi, decisive on a duel with Cambot (50 '), and the clumsiness of Cazeau, who missed a huge opportunity to narrow the gap (60'). Soyaux had just missed their chance and OL benefited. Once again brilliant in midfield, Dzsenifer Marozsan showed her class in finding the net (66 ', 0-3) and Amandine Henry sealed the result with a bit of luck (90', 0-4).
Given the victory by PSG in Reims the day before (1-3), which allowed the capital side to join them provisionally in the standings, the reigning French champions again took a lead of three points over their rivals and confirmed their status as leaders. The operation was successful.
THE REACTIONS .
Jean-Luc Vasseur :
"It was not a big match, but we had to come here and face a well-organized team at the back. This will surely happen to us at other times, this season, to be made to deliver a result with a less attractive performance. But the players give so much the rest of the time that it can happen like this. It's episodic, but the girls still had control of the game. They were less successful but they still won 0-4. "
Wendie Renard :
"Collectively, we did not play our best game. We were missing elements of rhythm, and movement in the last thirty meters. It was complicated to play on a pitch like this. We did not see an OL at its best but the most important thing is the victory. "
Ada Hegerberg :
"It's a very important victory. We can talk about the conditions but it is not an excuse, we must see this as a challenge. We played well in the first half, less well in the second. We had a lot of wasteful moments, but it's good to come here and win by this score. "
