Espoir (Hope) Categories

Ligue Honneur: Ligue championship

France Amateur Championship (CFA): National championship


From the age of 14 to 16, our young players have the choice:

- To study for the Baccalauréat in 4 years in the College Frederic Faÿs (traditional “second” year and then “first” and “final” years over 3 years).

- To attend refreshing courses leading to a specific Baccalauréat STT.

- To study for a BEP degree (Sales – Commercial) in two years, at the College Louise Labé.

These various curriculum allow all of them to attend 6 to 7 weekly training sessions. The 16 year olds under an “Aspiring” or “Placement” contract have the possibility to prepare a CAP in IT Maintenance or Communication in two years.

2 teams of Under 15

- 1st year: Ligue Honneur championship

- 2nd year: National championship

2 teams of Under 17

- 1st year: Ligue Honneur championship

- 2nd year: National championship

- 1st and 2nd years: Gambardella Cup (French Cup for the Under 17)

Pre - Training

Children from the age of 12 to 14, in 6th until 3rd year classes. A tripartite convention coordinates the National Education ministry, the school establishments (such as the Gabriel Rosset college) and the Olympique Lyonnais. The St Louis - St Bruno college offers boarding school facilities.

3 teams of Under 13:

- 1st year: Ligue Promotion championship

- 2nd year: Ligue Honneur championship

- Joint 1st and 2nd years: district championship at the top level

Awakening - Initiation

The awakening - initiation stage brings together the players aged from 6 to 12 in 3 categories.

Beginners 6 to 8 years old: tournaments in the Rhone department all year long.

Poussins (“Chicks”) 8 to 10 years old

Benjamins 10 to 12 years: Championship of the Rhone district.
