OL-Strasbourg: On the hunt for a first win at home (20:45)
Full of regrets after their last home match against Clermont (3-3), during which they were pegged back at the death after leading 3-1, the Lyonnais made up for it in their last match in Ligue 1, recording a narrow but precious win in Nantes (0-1). It's a first victory which will do OL a lot of good and finally jump start the 2021-22 season, which has been considerably reinforced with the arrivals of Jérome Boateng and Xherdan Shaqiri at the end of the transfer window.
OL's difficult start to the season was partially ameliorated by the win in Nantes before the international break. From now on, the objective of Peter Bosz and his men is to string together the wins and to finally get one at home. With success in Strasbourg this Sunday, which would constitute OL's first win of the season at home, a busy month of September would be off to a fine start.
Last season, Strasbourg had to fight until the end of the season to avoid relegation, finishing 15th, just two points ahead of the playoff place. It was a challenging season that the Alsatians will try to forget despite a sluggish start to the new one, as they lost their first two matches in Ligue 1, against Angers (0-2) and PSG (4-2), before a draw against Troyes (1-1), and then winning for the first time in the fourth round of the league - just like OL - by beating Brest (3-1) at La Meinau. They're this an opponent who are coming into form and of whom OL will have to be wary.
