OL–Clermont: To get back on track (1 PM)
A draw at home then a defeat at Angers -- the start of the season obviously has not lived up to expectations, but Clermont's visit to Groupama Stadium this Sunday should provide an opportunity to regain confidence with a first win this season. Having arrived Thursday, Italian fullback Emerson, a two-time European champion between his former club and his country, should be able to bring all his experience on Sunday, along with Damien Da Silva, who is back from suspension.
OL are not the only ones to have stalled at the start. While the PSG are the only “big side” to have take six points over the first two rounds, the champion Lille and Monaco have also taken just one point and Nice, Marseille or Rennes have also already dropped points.
The promoted side from Auvergne has been the big surprise at the start of the season. After having come very close to the top flight several times, Clermont Foot obtained their first promotion to Ligue 1 last season and have made a successful debut. Second in the table, behind Angers on goal difference, the Auvergnats won 2-0 in Bordeaux before beating Troyes by the same score, thanks to a Mohamed Bayo who is in great form, having scored three goals.
