OL-Brest: Make a splash on entry! (5 PM)
It's time to get serious! While the preseason will have enabled new coach Peter Bosz to assess his side and for his players to assimilate his playing philosophy, the Lyonnais are now ready to officially launch their season this Saturday against Brest -- and the supporters are, too! They will see their team take to the pitch for a competitive match for the first time after long months of waiting, having been unable to see their side in action at Groupama Stadium.
Usually a side which makes a good first impression to start the season, Léo Dubois’s teammates will be keen to make a splash to start the season, as they have become accustomed to doing over the past twenty years. Winning, with style, would be a very good idea to build on the eye-catching play that we have seen over the team's friendly matches, and to gain confidence for the rest of the season to come.
There's a new face on the bench at Brest as well. Coming very close to relegation last season with a 17th place finish, Stade Brestois decided to hand the reins to Michel Der Zakarian, a coach who by now knows the recipe for beating OL. The former Montpellier manager has emerged victorious over Lyon in the last three league matches despite never having been won over the first ten times he faced the club.
