On Monday evening, the French team lost to Switzerland after a penalty shootout (3-3, 5-4), a result which saw Les Bleus eliminated from Euro 2020. in the Round of 16.

Behind at halftime, the French were able to react thanks to the former Lyonnais Karim Benzema, who scored twice, while Hugo Lloris also saved a penalty. With tne minutes remaining, the Swiss came back to level the scoreline through Seferović and Gravanović. The "Nati" then withstood a French onslaught and managed to scrape into extra time and a penalty shootout. The French team finally were eliminated after an attempt by Kylian Mbappé was saved by Yann Sommer.

 

Léo Dubois, who had been a part of the squad for the Euros, didn't feature in this match.
