Léo Dubois : "C'est une grande fierté pour moi"
Léo Dubois is on Didier Deschamps' list of 26 players set to participate in the Euros this summer. He spoke with the club's in-house channel about his first impressions after his call-up and about the end of OL's season.

How do you feel after being called up for the Euros?

It’s a great point of pride for me, a childhood dream come true. I am really proud to be able to represent my country in an international competition like the Euros, especially as the team are world champions. We have a very good competition ahead of us.

Is this something of a culmination for you?

Yes; it is a big step forward for me. There are still a lot of steps in my career, though, so it's out of the question for me to stop here. I want to continue to progress and move forward.

What do you expect from these Euros?

We have a very ambitious squad so I definitely hope that we get to the final. I will play in my first international competition and I am convinced that it will go very well. I now know the squad very well and have confidence in our abilities.

A surprise came in the form of the inclusion of Karim Benzema. Is this for you, the best French team of all time?

The best of all time, I don't know. We have a squad with a lot of quality. We have an attacking ability which is extraordinary. We have to be certain of our qualities and arrive on the pitch with a lot of humility to get to the end of the competition.

Coming back to OL, how are you approaching this last week of the season?

It is very important to us. We have to do the work until the end to win this match. Of course, we don't have our fate in our hands, but at least we won't have anything to be ashamed of in this last game if we win. It's up to us to give everything. We are preparing for this with plenty of focus.

How does one beat this Nice team?

We must continue to do what we are doing now. I think we have a great collective strength; we are playing for each other. We also are able to score goals; we are scoring a lot at the moment. We have the qualities to win and we have a great squad so it's up to us to finish well. We are finishing the season in Lyon so it would be nice to win and take third place to start the season with some peace of mind.

What is your assessment of your season?

Personally, I am satisfied. My season is not yet over, though -- I cannot take stock of it right away. I hope we can achieve our goals here and then to win the Euros with the French team.
