Rudi Garcia "On n’a pas de calcul à faire"
The Lyon coach spoke with the press two days before the team's trip to Nîmes for Matchday 37 of Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

The squad

We have back Marcelo, Memphis and Maxence Caqueret. We will lose Mattia DeSciglio, who is suspended. We're going to see about Melvin Bard. I think we won't have Tino Kadewere and we'll see about Djamel Benlamri. Jason Denayer trained at a reduced level yesterday and normally today. If he completes the full session tomorrow, he will be available.

The match against Nîmes

We had a very good week of work. There was a lot determination on show and a desire to succeed in training. There are no calculations to be made. We have to win our matches. Sunday's will be challenging. We must win and hope for a misstep from our opponents to be able to get onto the podium come the end of the season. I still think the top three won't win all of their matches. The determination will be there, the motivation too. We have to keep a cool head. There will be a lot at stake in the last two games; for the podium, and for Europe. There is a battle at the top, a fight at the bottom of the table, everything is yet to be settled.

A challenging season

We would have hoped that 2021 would be more normal than last year, but this second part of the season was not. It's been almost a year since we started playing again, in June, with the Coupe de la Ligue final and the Final 8, and it weighs on the team's mental freshness. Not having fans in the stadiums means football is not the same. We hope that everyone, everywhere gets back to normal life as well as having normal football.

Satisfaction with the most recent matches

There is plenty of reason for satisfaction. Houssem has come back well, he scored. Bruno also scored. Rayan Cherki brought a lot to the table. Several players have returned to their best level at least psychologically. I have a lot of affection for Rayan, he has an incredible amount og talent. It’s normal that he has progressed since last season,  development for a young player is full of ups and downs. He's in good form at the moment, it's very good for him and for the team. He is beginning to be decisive. Our squad is very young. It’s a squad for the future and the hope is that with playing time, their experience will improve them. The potential is there.
