NWSL CHALLENGE CUP 2021
This cup returned for its second edition after the victory of the Houston Dash last year. Prior to the regular season, the league's 10 teams - split into two divisions - would face off in a total of 20 games over a 3-week period.

The two teams finishing first in their respective group after having played four matches will advance to the Challenge Cup final, to take place on Saturday May 8th.

In the "East" division, the tournament was hotly contested and it was finally NJ/NY who qualified thanks to victories in their first two matches, and who would remain unbeaten over their four matches (two wins, two draws).

In OL Reign's "West" division, it was the Portland Thorns who finished first and qualified after an excellent run of three wins and one draw, beating OL Reign 2-0 in Portland.
