Challenge Cup NWSL : Défaite d'OL Reign face aux Portland Thorns
OL Reign suffered their first defeat in the 2021 Challenge Cup against the Portland Thorns, overnight from Wednesday to Thursday. The 2-0 loss in Oregon places OL Reign last in the West Division standings.

Despite losing, it was the players of Farid Benstiti who created the first chance of the match. But a free kick from Lindsey Horan on fifteen minutes put Portland ahead, and Simone Charley doubled the lead in the first minutes of the second half.

On the hour mark, changes from Farid Benstiti, saw him bring on the former Lyon duo, Jess Fishlock and Megan Rapinoe, and they helped the Seattle side finish the match in better shape, but failed to convert their chances.

With this win, Portland will advance to the final to face the team that managed to secure first place in the Eastern Division, currently occupied by NJ/NY Gotham FC. The final of this edition of the Challenge Cup will take place on May 8, 2021.
