OL - Monaco : un choc pour le dernier carré (21h10 sur France 3, Eurosport 2)
A few days after a win in Ligue 1 against Nantes, a big match awaits OL in the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France -- a place in the last four awaits the winner and this is an opportunity not to be missed.

The context

Two weeks after winning away to Red Star, OL are back in action in the Coupe de France in the midst of a tough run of games. Indeed, a visit from Monaco will be followed by hosting Lille at the end of the week and then by a trip to face these same Monegasques in the league next week. These will be three decisive matches in what is an uncertain end to the season. But before thinking of the league, though, Rudi Garcia's men hope once again to perform well in the Coupe de France and reach the semifinals, as they did last year.

The challenge

Two teams from Ligue 2 and one from the National, these are the opponents that Les Gones have eliminated in the Coupe de France this season. These opponents were supposedly inferior, but against whom OL had to be at their best to continue their journey. This will again have to be the case to beat a much tougher opponent, in the form of AS Monaco, who have been in top form in  2021. By winning and making the last four of the competition, Memphis and his teammates will be able to tackle the final stretch of the season with a plenty of confidence.

The opponent

The team that OL had easily disposed of in October is far from being the same. While the players haven't changed, their form is quite different. AS Monaco have been quite simply the best-performing team in Ligue 1 since the start of 2021, ahead of Lille, PSG and OL. Having beaten Grenoble, Nice and finally Metz in previous rounds, the Monegasques have still not conceded a goal in this edition of the Coupe de France. It's a series that OL would do well to put an end to in order to continue their successful run and to believe in winning a title.
