Nantes - OL : Ce qu'il s'est passé la dernière fois
Ahead of the clash between OL and Nantes on Matchday 33 in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, we look back at the first match between the two clubs this season.

On 23 December 2020, OL had the chance to end what was a very special calendar year on a high, as victory against Les Canaris would allow them to spend the holidays at the top of the table. At the kickoff had Rudi Garcia fielded his first-choice eleven, determined not to let this golden opportunity slip away.

And OL started strong, as in the fourth minute Houssem Aouar found Karl Toko Ekambi in the box to open the scoring. Les Gones were not satisfied, however, and continued their assault on Alban Lafont's goal. The Nantes goalkeeper responded well but was eventually beaten a second time, by Tino Kadewere, following in a shot from Lucas Paquetá. On a big night, OL scored their third goal of the evening, just before half-time. Brilliant throughout, Paqueta was finally rewarded for his efforts and took advantage of a fine ball from Kadewere to score his very first goal in a Lyon shirt.

With a three goal lead at the break, Rudi Garcia's men approached the second half calmly. Carrying on from an impressive first half, they continued to attack. But Lafont, who had already been decisive in the first half, was unbeatable and none of Aouar, Memphis, or Kadewere could manage to score Lyon's fourth goal. Facing little trouble in his own goal, Lopes still marked the occasion with a classy double save just before the end of the match. OL thus won 3-0, and climbed to the top of the table on goal difference and gave a very nice gift to their supporters a few days before the end of 2020.
