Maxwel Cornet : « Ne pas se mettre une pression négative »
Two days before OL's trip to Reims to open Matchday 29 of the league season, Maxwel Cornet answered journalists' questions. The entire press conference can be found on OLPLay.

His match against Sochaux

"In the Coupe de France the coach has used me in attack to rotate the squad, and at Sochaux it was successful because we won the match with all of the forwards scoring, personally it made me happy to find the net."

His areas for improvement

"I still have to work on my positioning for sure, I am not a full back by trade, I am learning every day, and the goal is to be the best player come the weekend. Defensively, I try to be solid in my duels and my sense of anticipation, I have to be even more solid in terms of build-up play as well, to help the team. I speak a lot with the coach, and with Claudio Cacapa to adapt to the different positions."

His records for goals and appearances with OL

"50 goals is a lot, it is a pride to be able to write a small page for myself in the history of the club, I am level with Florian Maurice, and it is thanks to him that I am in Lyon, so it is a nice story, I will send him a message when I pass him. It shows the confidence the club has in me, it makes me want to give it back by being as clinical as possible."

The run-in

"It's going to be a telling period, we must not feel negative pressure that will make us choke, we have experience when it comes to the run-in; we have been pretty good when it comes to needing a boost to finish strong, to do what it takes to finish well, and it needs to start in the match against Reims. All the matches are important, there is no question about that. The goal is to be happy at the end of the season and we know what that will have to do to get there."

A second wind at the end of the season

"It's a natural occurrence -- we're redouble our efforts, it's a bit like the Champions League matches, we're finding additional motivation, and that cannot be explained. This year we have a great team that can do something at the end of the season, it's up to us to stay focussed."
