Houssem Aouar: "We want to go as high as possible"
Playing against OM behind closed doors
“Without the fans it changes things a bit. It’s still a great match, one of the biggest in our league, with a lot of rancor. In the end, it's not going to change much of what we want to do in going there. It has always been a very close match. Personally, it's a match that I like to play in, we and OM are two of the biggest French clubs, and we can't wait to play this match."
OL as the favorite?
“We are aware of our objectives, we want to go as high as possible. This weekend it will be important to come back with a victory, but in this kind of match you can't say that there is a favorite."
The fight for the title
“You can see that there is a lot of excitement around this title race, it's good for the league, for the fans. We remain focused on what we have to do, we will take the matches one after the other with a lot of composure, and plenty of motivation to go as high as possible. We have been able to manage the run-in well in recent years, we need to take inspiration from that to continue our momentum and go as far as possible against three other competitors who are also very strong this season."
His own current form
"I'm getting better and better, I've had some hamstring issues, but it's starting to go in the right direction, I know that to achieve my personal goals, we have to be successful collectively. In the team we don't necessarily rely on one player, we have a lot of quality, and we have very good competition for places, which is what makes everyone give their all. Memphis is our captain, he brings us a lot, but he's not the only one."
Winning a trophy with OL
“It's been a while, I would like to win something here. We were close last season, it affected me a lot, and we're going to do everything this season, because playing at OL means winning titles, for the club, and for the supporters."
Areas for improvement
"We can improve our fluidity in our style of play, create more opportunities, we also have to have more of a sense of serenity, especially when we are leading. We have to be more technically sound, and have more confidence, even when we've conceded a goal, in order to show more personality in our play. Personally, I'm starting my fourth season here, so I've learned a lot of things, I've evolved, but I still have things to learn, I try to be as consistent as possible, to bring as much to the team as possible, to help make the match more fluid. I'm trying to improve on all these aspects of my play."
