Brest v OL: What happened last time
Ahead of this seventh league matchday of 2019/20, Sylvinho's OL were eighth in the table with two wins, two draws and two defeats in six games. However, having gone five matches without a victory across all competitions, the time is ripe for a recovery. Stade Brestois, meanwhile, had recently been promoted to the top flight and were sitting in 15th place. Les Gones started the game well and had some chances before finally opening the scoring through Moussa Dembélé. However, the joy was short lived as Brest quickly equalised: Yoann Court, an OL Academy graduate, fired in a low cross that caught everyone out, including Anthony Lopes, and put the sides back on level terms.
OL had to wait until the second half to retake the lead thanks to a well-taken Maxwel Cornet strike, after he had been set up by Lucas Tousart. But, once again, Oliver Dall’Oglio's men restored parity. Court shot on the turn from Julien Faussurier's backheel for his second of the night to deny his former club the three points. As a result, Olympique Lyonnais slipped to 11th. The players have been warned and know what awaits them in Brittany.
