Rudi Garcia : « Il n'y a que des matches de tempérament »
The coach, Rudi Garcia, appeared in the press room of the training center to speak about the match on Saturday evening against Montpellier. The entire press conference can be found on OLPlay.

Medical update

“Jason Denayer is a candidate to play tomorrow. He doesn't have 90 minutes in him but he's been training with the squad for a few days. Those who have played central defence have been very good. There is no other concern. We're watching Bruno Guimaraes. He came off at his request against Ajaccio but it was no big deal; he has trained normally."

Looking back at the match against Ajaccio

“The squad is important. This match showed that everyone is involved and that the team has not lost its level of performance with the changes. It is a real satisfaction to see that we have the same level of involvement, the same philosophy. It comes from the players, from the staff who are repeatedly telling them that everyone must be positive. It gives us what we saw against Ajaccio -- an enthusiastic team who enjoy playing together. Danger lurks for all teams when the players think individually... It was important to give playing time to those who had been lacking it."

The match against Montpellier

“We will have to use the same players as against Ajaccio. We have revenge to take against this team. The Montpellier match is very important. Montpellier are a good team, with good players on the ball. It's a team that fights, that has quality. It's up to us to be efficient in all areas of the pich to thwart their attacking play. They had a long winless period but they've recently got their players back. They’re a team that shouldn’t be underestimated... They have plenty to offer, they will compete in all areas of the pitch. All matches have their qualities. We must continue to show our character."

The battle for the top

“We can't talk yet about the final sprint but we can talk about a sprint because everyone is doing very well. Our opponents' European matches should be an advantage. It's amazing to see these teams running so hard. Not everyone will win every match, but let's make sure we're that team."

The integration of Islam Slimani

“It's going very well with him. He is with us as he is with you, and he shows an above average sense of collective spirit. He helps his teammates shine. I wanted to see him working with Memphis. I'm glad he scored. It’s a real plus to have him. He defends, he tackles, he helps the team."

The form of Léo Dubois

“His last performances confirmed what I think of him. He has a good sense of the game, of combination play. He has a very good right foot. He is very smart about his positioning. He is an important player for OL. He's over his physical issues. Everything is back to normal with the work of the medical staff. You have to be vigilant with him over a sequence of three matches. He had had an injury with Nantes which has made things tough for him. This long period of hard work has paid off."

“He works as a captain, he is an example on the pitch and in the locker room. He has the same goals as the club."

Neymar's injury

“It weakens PSG, especially in the Champions League. It would be good if our two teams left in Europe represented us well. The top players, we prefer to see them on the pitch rather than on the sidelies, even if PSG does not lack options in reserve."
