After OL-Montpellier: Catarina Macario, quickly finding her voice!
It was a successful debut, no question about it! Catarina Macario, who arrived from the United States on Sunday after having made her first appearance for her country, did not expect to step onto the pitch at the Groupama OL Training Center so quickly with Montpellier coming to town in a D1 Arkema match. But Amandine Henry’s changed things and the new winter recruit took her bow in Lyon's colors. After a few tentative moves on the sidelines to warm up, the club's number 13 did not need much time to get to grips with the game, showing off a nice sample of her abilities.
Brought on in the heart of the game alongside the experienced pair of Sara Gunnarsdottir and Dzsenifer Marozsan, the 21-year-old midfielder, with a big smile on the face upon her arrival as a subtitutein the 37th minute of play, did not shrink from her role. A few seconds on the pitch and she was already showing her determination, her impact, and her power. Moving quickly and connecting with her new teammates, Catarina Macario did not hesitate to offer a display of her skills to unsettle this Montpellier team. This bodes well for the rest of the season and for the future!
Catarina Macario's reaction:
I’m very happy to have made my debut. It’s a dream come true. I am happy with the victory. I still have to adapt to the European and French game, but I am very happy to be here. The team is very nice to me. I'm learning every day alongside my teammates, and I'm also discovering the city of Lyon.
