Rudi Garcia : « On ne peut pas survoler tous les matches »
On the eve of Strasbourg's visit in Ligue 1, Rudi Garcia gave the usual pre-match press conference -- it can be found in full on OLPlay.

Medical update

“Jason Denayer is still injured -- he's slowly improving. The others should be ready to go. The run really begins on Saturday. We're going to play four matches in quick succession. We will need to give ourselves some breathing room during the match a little earlier than we have been if the match allows it. We have that in mind."

A drop in the level of performance?

“I don't have the same feeling. We need to put the players at the same physical level. There's Aouar, Paqueta, Guimaraes… We need them all to come back to their best level. These are teams we're facing who are playing for survival or who want to get points, like against Bordeaux who are a good team. We must always be thinking, so as to not be surprised, or dwell on our achievements. We are on three straight victories. We cannot gloss over all these matches, the other teams either. We've taken a lot of points, yes, and mayeb we deserved to take more. The opponents can adapt well to what we're doing, although I think we can score in more than one phase of play: with counterattacks, build-up play or on set pieces. It's an asset for the team -- everyone scores. It makes sense to have goals comes from elsewhere in the team. We should not rely only on the attackers ... we are a pretty good side overall.  We can only praise what the team is doing -- they're a team that wants to win and everyone is doing as much to reach this goal."

The TV rights?

“It’s one of the most open seasons in many years, but we're playing in empty stadiums. It's a tragedy but it's nobody's fault. The league will continue to be broadcast, which was no longer certain. Fans will be able to watch it on TV. We trust those in charge, who seem to me to be skilled at negotiating… Ligue 1 has never been so attractive. There are great matches everywhere."

A contract extension?

“The president has said what he's been saying for a long time. We'll meet again on this matter when the time is right. It's only the next game that counts and being in the top three come the end of the season. All the places are in piece okay so there is no particular problem. Everyone needs to have their gossip. I'm not here to argue with other clubs. It's not my job. My job is to coach OL and qualify them for the Champions League."
