The best away team in the league, OL had to do as much again as they traveled to one of the division's poorest home teams, Dijon FCO. The challenge of this battle of opposites was to catch up with Lille, who had created some separation by winning a little earlier in the evening. Rudi Garcia's men immediately took the upper hand against their neighbor by having the best opportunities and converting one of them, thanks to Lucas Paquetá. The rest of the half, though, was played more hesitantly and Dijon regained confidence in their play, albeit without posing too much trouble to OL who held strong against the physical play of their opponents.
Still dominant after the break, Memphis and his teammates were looking for the breakthrough goal. While Lopes didn't really get a chance to impress, Racioppi on the visitors' side was doing whatever it took to keep his team alive. But with 20 minutes to go, Dijon still hadn't given up and it looked to be a battle to secure three points. OL finally managed to oversee a rather calm end to the game and responded to wins by Lille and PSG.
