OL - Bordeaux : Un bijou de Dubois qui vaut très cher ! (2-1)
OL won 2-1 against Bordeaux to start off the 22nd Matchday of Ligue 1 Uber Eats. Clearly playing less attractively than they had in Saint-Etienne and unsettled by a fine Bordeaux side, Lyon still managed to snatch the victory in the last seconds thanks to a splendid goal from Léo Dubois.

Key moments

17'. A shot from the edge of the area by Guimarães is blocked with a diving save by Costil.
22'. Denayer is forced off injured with an apparent hamstring injury.
32'. Goal from Toko Ekambi who gets on to a poorly cleared ball in the area following a corner. 1-0.
52'. Hwang's shot is off target after a mix-up at the back.
55'. Kalu's goal on a half-volley leaves Lopes no chance. 1-1.
79'. Exceptional save from Lopes to deny Oudin's effort.
85'. Powerful free kick from Paqueta saved by Costil.
86'. Poundjé's shot comes close to finding the net.
90 + 2'. Dubois scores from an incredible half-volley into the opposite top corner. 2-1.

Match summary

One short week after having asserted their regional dominance against Saint-Etienne OL had to confirm their return to form, moving to put a little pressure on PSG and LOSC. But against a Girondins de Bordeaux side in great form over the last few weeks, the task did not look so easy. The start of the match was challenging, between the struggling to break the opponents' press and the exit, through injury, of Denayer. But there was enough there to take the lead into the interval as Karl Toko Ekambi took advantage of the team's second opportunity to open the scoring in a closely contested first period.

In the second half again, the Bordelais started better, but this time gave themselves a few chances to equalize. They did so against a defense that had shown signs of seeming ill at ease since returning from the locker room. Rudi Garcia then decided to bring on first Cornet and Paquetá, then Aouar and Slimani to get the hosts back on top.The Brazilian was bossing the game and gave a boost to Lyon's play. Bordeaux remained dangerous but Lopes kept them at bay as both teams were trying to go for the win. And it was our Gones who did as much with a monumental half-volley from Dubois! At the end of added time, OL had three more points and were temporarily back atop the table!
