Sinaly Diomande signs through 2025
Trained at the Académie de Jean-Marc Guillou, Sinaly joined OL in September 2019 from Guidars FC (Mali) and made his first team debut a year later against Nîmes at Groupama Stadium. The 19-year-old center back has since made 16 Ligue 1 appearances, including the derby against Saint-Etienne, and been given his first caps for the Ivory Coast national team alongside Maxwel Cornet.
This extension of Sinaly Diomande's contract comes after those of Rayan Cherki and Melvin Bard as well as first professional contracts for Yaya Soumaré, Florent Da Silva and Malo Gusto, thus confirming OL's desire to prepare for the future and relying on players from its Academy.
I'm very happy to have extended my contract, it's really great for me. I will continue to work hard, to win matches. The coach has confidence in me, I have worked really hard to be where I am today. My goal is to play as much as possible, to continue growing with my club and to play in the Champions League next season.
He is an important player for us, even though he is young and lacks a bit of experience. He's someone who is appreciated by the team, who performs well on the field and who works hard. He has a very balanced style of play, he is an aggressive defender, with good pace, who likes getting stuck in but who is also technically comfortable and versatile. He is a very complete player and has a great future with us.
