Catarina Macario and Damaris Egurrola arrive
“Damaris comes to us from Everton. She is a player with an interesting style, who is very good at reading play, has a very high level of passing, and a very precise left foot. She is a very intelligent player who can play in midfield as lone holding player, in a central two and also in central defense. She is a young Spanish international who is part of a growing generation in the European and global game. I am very proud to have her here today."
“Catarina is from Stanford University, where she scored almost as many goals as she has played in matches. She's a player who has that American side to her in terms of her investment, workrate and physicality, but she also has all the creativity and finesse of the Brazilian game and I hope we will see that very quickly. She was naturalized as an American not too long ago and has been called up for the world champions, scoring and being voted best player of the game in her second cap. She is both a player for today and for tomorrow."
“I will have significant resources at my disposal, and these arrivals can only do us good. Their integration is very important and it's up to us to make it a great success for all of us."
“I’m very happy to be here, I’ve been able to practice here before and it’s been going really well for me. It was my dream since I was little to be here and now I hope to accomplish my other goals. Everyone knows this is the best club in the world. When I received their call I was very surprised, but also impatient to meet and work with all these players every day. I think that for Catarina and for me it will be a very good thing, we are both young, we will be able to support each other. But honestly we are in the best place we can be, all we have to do is play and accomplish what we are here for."
“I'm also very happy to be here. It’s been an amazing year for me so far, I hope it will continue in this direction now that I am here in Lyon. I can't wait to start, to get to know the players and the coach. OL is a very interesting club because of its history and values, its willingness to advance football and women's sport. I obviously knew this club before I came here, it is one of the best clubs in the world, thanks in part to Jean-Michel Aulas -- every player hopes one day to have the opportunity to play for this club. When they contacted me I couldn't believe it, and being here today makes me so happy."
