Après ASSE - OL : Marcelo, une tête bien faite
Having been back in the team's defense in the last several months, Marcelo this time combined his hard work at the back with some attacking verve by scoring his first two goals of the season and propelling OL to another historic victory.

8 April 2018, OL won 5-0 away to Metz and Marcelo, who had arrived at OL a few months prior, scored twice. More than two years later, the Brazilian repeated this feat again as Les Gones again won away, 5-0. It's a twist of fate that also shows that a lot has happened in those two years. Sometimes targeted by the fans, Marcelo has never given up and his professionalism has made him a key player again today as he is back in Lyon's starting lineup. And to illustrate this comeback, what could be better than scoring a double, moreover in a derby and in a historic victory.

The defender kept things in order at the back and then did even more up front, delighting the fans by twice heading the ball past Jessy Moulin, courtesy of the brilliant right foot of Léo Dubois, who was also particularly sharp this Sunday. The result was fair reward for OL, who have had much trouble being decisive on set pieces since the start of the season and who can now look to build on this performance to increase their offensive options and continue their run of very good performances in the league.
