Tino Kadewere : « Le derby pour rendre fier tout le monde »
Hero of the reverse fixture, Tino Kadewere spoke to the press this Friday, 48 hours before the trip to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The entire conference can be found on OLPlay.

The derby

“We know there is a perfect tie in the derby' historical record. We have to win to get ahead of them. This is one element to take into consideration among others. We want to make history and make everyone proud... It will be a difficult game. We have to win for the supporters because they will not be there. We have to do it for them. I also want to score my first goal of 2021. I can assure you that I haven't lost my confidence. I have had the playing time. I'm not letting myself get distracted. Goals will come naturally."

His double in the reverse fixture

“It gave me a lot of confidence. It boosted my sense of understanding and my sense of belonging to the club. I knew it was a very important game for the club and the fans. I understood that you had to be at 100% for this game. People had talked to me about the derby all the time. This game was constantly on my mind and that's what I dreamed of."

His adaptation

“I play for a very good club and with great teammates. I get a lot of support from the players and the fans even though I haven't played in front of them. They constantly encourage me. The messages I receive give me the confidence and energy to keep giving my all. There is an excellent staff here, especially the coach. They help me a lot. This is the main reason for my success at the moment."

Areas for improvement

“I can still do better. I'm getting used to my new position on the pitch. It's been going well. I'm doing whatever it takes to adapt as quickly as possible. Communication is important on the pitch. It helps me play better. We had some difficulties in the last matches but we are working hard. I have to do even more offensively and defensively."

The loss to Metz

“The game was hard to take. Getting no points from it was tough. We immediately refocused on the derby. We encouraged each other a lot. We know the season is long. We have to stay positive and always encourage each other... Poor finishing can happen. The solution is to work more. We've been doing that to break this run. We must not let it affect us because it is the best way to keep moving forward."

The absence of Lucas Paqueta

“He's a very smart player, a very good player with and without the ball. He is a great help. He will be missed by the team on Sunday. There are other players who can replace him like Guimaraes and Caqueret who can help the team. We have a lot of players who can allow us to adapt."
