OLTV : les meilleurs moments de Frédéric Piquionne dans OLNS
A former OL player and now an analyst on RMC Sport, Frédéric Piquionne was the guest of Barth this Wednesday on OL Night System. The show can be seen in full on OLTV and OLPlay.

His derby failure at OL

I felt responsible, I was a nice guy, I felt like apologizing after a match like this. I was keen to perform well but I messed things up completely. Missed chances and a red card that left my teammates with ten men, it was a dark evening as the derby means a lot to me. I was under a lot of stress. The weekend before Claude Puel had started me in the Cup and I didn't expect to start in the derby. I put a lot of pressure on myself and instead of playing things easy, I did the wrong things.

His time at OL

We had a very great team, I came to win titles but unfortunately, I don't know if I'm like a black cat, when I arrived we didn't win anything. The thing I've kept was that I scored in all competitions:  domestic cups, the league, Champions League. It’s a source of pride. When I arrived Claude Puel wanted me and things did not go well because the relationship between the two of us was not in good shape but I had a great year at OL. I improved and played with some great players.

Sainté's tactics to counter Juninho's free kicks

I wanted to put Frédéric Mendy on my shoulders to prevent Juni's ball from going over the wall a free kick. If we had done it would have been amazing but I'm not sure the refereeing body would have accepted it. It was an idea from Jérémy Janot who had it the day before, but we did not work on it. On match day you can't do it because the images would have gone around the world for sure otherwise.

OL today

President Aulas had the wonderful idea to go find someone from the golden age, Juninho has put in place the tools the team needs to get back to the spirit of the great years. When you see them on the pitch, they play with great hunger. They attack and defend as a team. There is obviously the work of Rudi Garcia but Juninho as well on a daily basis is bringing something beneficial. You have to be objective, Lyon is superior to Saint-Etienne in all areas of the game but the derby remains a game apart. Lyon are the big favorites in this match, I think OL will beat Saint-Etienne.
