Match summary

No time to procrastinate. Three days after the draw against Brest at home, OL were already back on the road in Nice with the possibility of temporarily taking the lead the day before Lille - PSG. The start of the match was even but it was the Lyonnais who has the first opportunities, relying in particular on their qualities of quick play on the counter. They were awarded a penalty which Memphis converted with a panenka and thereafter Rudi Garcia's plan continued to work wonderfully. Kadewere scored the second goal of the game thanks to his work in pressing. Courtesy of their efficiency, OL had the game in hand, but on the stroke of halftime they allowed Nice back into the game, seeing their lead reduced just before the break.

The second half resumed at the same pace with Nice in possession of the ball but not really producing much that was dangerous. On the Lyon side, the visitors combined well in midfield with the Guimaraes-Paqueta-Aouar trio  working together before springing into action on the counter, exemplified by Toko Ekambi's third goal. Memphis and his teammates gave a real footballing recital over these few minutes. Aouar then scored the fourth goal to seal the result and temporarily allow Lyon to settle into top spot ahead of Sunday night's match between Lille and the Parisians.
