Olympique Lyonnais are very proud to announce a contract extension fortheir Norwegian striker Ada Hegerberg for 3 more seasons, until June 30, 2024.

Arriving at OL in 2014, Ada Hegerberg quickly established herself as a major player at the club. Thanks to her performances, the Lyon striker has been the top scorer in D1 Arkema three times, in  2015/2016 (33 goals), 2016/2017 (20 goals) and 2017/2018 (31 goals). She was also top scorer in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2016, where she was also voted UEFA player of the year that year before becoming, in October 2019, the top scorer in the history of the competition (53 goals).

In December 2018, Ada Hegerberg, nominated along with six of her teammates (Renard, Henry, Majri, Kumagai, Marozsan, Bronze), won the first women's Ballon d'Or in history and continued her magnificent trajectory in Lyon colors by extending her contract until 2021. With OL, Ada Hegerberg has had an incredible record, winning six French Championships, five Coupes de France, five Women's Champions Leagues and one Trophée des Championnes.

Olympique Lyonnais are delighted with Ada's long-term commitment to the club and hope that the continuation of this great story will once again propel the club to the heights of French and European football.

Ada Hegerberg :
“At heart, this is my club. I wanted to extend my contract from the start because there was no doubt in my head. OL have always been the number one option. It gives me additional peace of mind to come back even stronger now."

Jean-Michel Aulas :
“It's a great pleasure to be able to sign an extension with the best player in the world. It is both a sign of good health for Olympique Lyonnais and also an exemplary story for all the very talented young women who leave their country to join a big club and succeed in winning all that there is to be won. Ada has a great personality and we are counting on her in a big way to lead this team, along with all her teammates, to the highest level as she has done previously."
