Après Strasbourg - OL (2-3) : De nouveau d'attaque
Against Strasbourg, OL rediscovered their skill in attack and, at the same time, a path to victory. Five minutes from half-time, the Lyonnais were already leading 3-0. It was a lead made possible by a very strong attacking trio of Kadewere - Memphis - Toko-Ekambi.

Kadewere's first goal

It was first impressive performance for new man Tino Kadewere. Deprived of his first goal last weekend against Marseille, the Zimbabwean forward did not miss his chance this time around. Well picked out with a ball over the top by Memphis, he beat Bingourou Kamara and scored his first goal in Ligue 1 Uber Eats in his sixth game. It was also his first official goal for OL.

Toko Ekambi smiles again

Then it was Karl Toko Ekambi’s turn to impress. Having not scored in Ligue 1 since February 2020, KTE was also been able to count on the support of his captain to find the net. First by getting on the end of a very nice low cross, then with an opportunistic after another solo run from the Dutchman to finish off his brace.

Memphis in boss mode

Even if he didn't score, he was the man of the match. With a hat trick of assists in one half, Memphis was instrumental. A long pass for Kadewere, then an run over 40 meters before delivering a perfect cross for Toko-Ekambi, Memphis concluded his brilliant play against the Strasbourg defense by playing in the Cameroonian for his double. This was the second time that the striker has managed at least three assists in the same match with Lyon after his performance on April 8, 2018 against FC Metz: 4 assists and 1 goal in a 5-0 victory at the Stade Saint-Symphorien. Involved in seven goals since the start of the season (four goals and three assists), no one has recorded more assists than the OL captain in Ligue 1 since his arrival, with 35.
