D1 Arkema: A visit from Guingamp to stay ahead (8:45 p.m. on Canal+ Sport)
Leading D1 Arkema thanks to five victories in as many games, OL's Women's Team intends to consolidate their position as leader before the international break. Five days after success against Dijon (2-0), OL continue with another home match, this time against Guingamp.
The Bretons scored their first points last weekend by winning against Soyaux (3-0). It was a welcome response after having experienced a difficult start to the year, with defeats by the big teams in the league: PSG (1-4), Montpellier (0-2) and Bordeaux (0-1). And there was another setback, at home, against Dijon (1-2).
However, Guingamp managed to cause problems for Lyon during the restart. The players of Jean-Luc Vasseur had barely won at the Roudourou, in the semifinals of the Coupe de France, thanks to a solitary goal by Nikita Parris, on August 2. It was their 20th victory in 20 matches, in all competitions, against this opponent.
Confidence will be needed, therefore, if OL want to stay the course, counting on the returns of midfielders Amel Majri and Sara Björk Gunnarsdottir for this.
