Rudi Garcia : « Personne n’a d’excuse, il faut être le meilleur possible »
Two days before Matchday Five of Ligue 1 between Lorient and OL, coach Rudi Garcia spoke to a press conference. The conference can be found in full exclusively on OLTV and OL PLAY.

State of thesquad

“Jeff Reine-Adélaïde is unavailable for Sunday. For the others, we will take stock tomorrow. There were a few players with minor muscle issues, notably Karl Toko-Ekambi."

The current offensive struggles

“This week we have been working a lot on our attacking patterns because that’s where we have to regain our efficiency, whether it’s in the final pass or in our finishing. Obviously, it will also be necessary to reproduce what we did well during the last few matches, namely to build play coherently and to create scoring chances. At the moment we usually 'just have' to score one goal to win it because we are very strong at the back. It's a cyclical situation that goalscorers go through, this streak without goals but it always comes back. When Moussa Dembélé finds the net, he will follow on from that like the top scorer he is."

The mercato

"The situation has not changed, I can't wait for this transfer window to end. There is currently nothing certain in the direction of departures. In any case, as long as you wear the OL jersey, you have to give the best of yourself. Slowing down may be sometimes unconscious, but I make sure the players give their all for this shirt."

The match at Lorient

“You have to respect this opponent. We weren't able to score against Nîmes so we dropped two points which would have put us in a more comfortable situation. Before hosting Marseille, we must especially careful not to drop any points in Lorient. We will have to be at our best for everyone to make their contribution to the collective. No one has an excuse, you have to be the best you can be. They're a team with principles and a good coach. Despite their last three losses, they've managed to score a few goals, which proves their tactical and collective consistency. However, they are a promoted side and we are Olympique Lyonnais -- we owe it to ourselves to come back with all three points."

Tino Kadewere

“We have high hopes for Tino Kadewere. His preseason was interrupted by the tragedy he went through but we are trying to make up for any lost time he may have had because of this situation. He has a lot of good will, he's a team player and very pleasant. He has made a good start with us, and his confidence will increase over time. We need to continue to improve the relations between the players on the pitch, especially the midfielders and the attackers, and it is precisely in this role that he can be important because he is very altruistic."
