Rudi Garcia : « Il faut être plus dangereux »
On the eve of the 4th matchday of Ligue 1 and a match between OL and Nîmes (9 p.m.), OL coach Rudi Garcia spoke to the press to give the latest news about the club.

The squad

“Jeff Reine-Adélaide will be unavailable while Youssouf Koné will be back. Thiago Mendes should be there too. Regarding Jeff, he should likely return against Lorient. "

The match against Nîmes

“It will be imperative to win against Nîmes. This is a team that has scored goals in every game they have played but is currently on two losses in a row. We will have to respect the opponent and play at our best. Thanks to the five changes, rotation isn't necessarily an issue. The important thing will be to beat this Nîmes team in our stadium."

The matches against Bordeaux and Montpellier

“We have just played two difficult away matches. Even if we played well, what shows in the table is clearly insufficient. We have to be able to be even more dangerous. In these two matches, we lacked a cutting edge. We have had forty shots across two matches, we just need to be more clinical and find solutions that are sometimes more about the collective than the individual. We continue to work on all possible scenarios to be able to make the right choice in all circumstances. We have hit the post in both matches, which is a sign that we aren't missing by much."

Managing the younger players

“Young players are part of the squad. We are very focused on developing our young talents. When I think a young player is ready, I push the board not to recruit in their role. At Montpellier, Jean Lucas, Rayan Cherki and Melvin Bard were very successful and they show their level with each of their appearances. Beyond these three players, having the ability to make five changes has been very significant, that's exactly what I expect from my bench. All of the substitutes have contributed a lot, and while we didn’t win, this is the way forward for the future."
