Rudi Garcia : "We will not hesitate to challenge PSG"
Update on the squad
"Jeff Reine-Adélaïde will not be available, he is not well. Bertrand Traoré should will be there either, he is in the process of leaving the club. Otherwise, there are no other absences to be noted."
The match against Montpellier
“We haven't had a lot of space in the last two games, we played two teams with a very low block. Montpellier also play like that, with a very solid block that counterattacks very well. They are a team that plays with a lot of intensity and are formidable at home. However, if we win tomorrow we will be top in the standings and we will do what it takes to get a resultt. There will be changes in the eleven because we are playing three matches in one week. The only thing I can say is that Anthony Lopes and Houssem Aouar will start. Houssem is one of our best players, we had to bring him back slowly by playing only half an hour in Bordeaux and he will start tomorrow."
The integration of Tino Kadewere
“He has settled into the squad very well. He had to be brought up to speed when he returned after the tragedy he has experienced and he worked with Paolo Rongoni. It was good to see him play against Bordeaux and now he needs to kick on. He is an intelligent player who has a good bond with his teammates and is very altruistic. He can play with anyone up front and he could even have scored from Léo Dubois’ cross. We will see him on the pitch very quickly."
“I think he came on and played very well against Dijon, he could even have scored and/or provided an assist. I will rely heavily on him, regardless of his age. When considering the offensive options with the board, I never fail to reiterate that there has to be room for Rayan. He's a different player, able to do a lot of good work up front. He needs to improve his use of the ball and he is already doing it, he is using his technical ability much more intelligently."
“If we can keep the same squad as we had in the Champions League run, we can have big ambitions for this season, but the transfer window ends on October 5th. Of course, if we have the opportunity to challenge PSG, we will not hesitate, although it will be very difficult. We have to wait until the end of the transfer window to see if internal conversions can work and if we really need to recruit or not for the right-back position. Young Malo Gusto has done a few training sessions with us but I still find him too callow. By October, we'll decide whether or not he's ready to be number two behind Léo Dubois this season. Just in case, I hope we have the internal resources to bring in a player in this position. It's the same for Cenk Özkacar, we'll see if a loan makes more sense than keeping him in the squad."
