Internationals : Friday's results
The French U-21 team remains in the running in the qualifying stages for Euro 2021. Thanks to their 2-0 victory in Georgia, Les Espoirs retain second place in the group and remain three small points behind the Swiss at the top. Starter and captain Jeff Reine-Adelaide was forced to give up his place after 25 minutes of play due to a calf issue. His Lyon teammate in midfield, Maxence Caqueret played the entire match while Melvin Bard came on in the 79th minute. Their next match is Monday, September 7 against Azerbaijan.
Even if he did not find the net, Memphis once again made a major contribution to the success of his team. OL's number 11 obviously started and played the 90 minutes in the 1-0 victory over Poland on the first day of the Nations League. The other Lyon player involved in this match, Kenny Tete, remained on the bench.
The last OL representative on this first evening of the international break, Ciprian Tatarusanu started in Romania's goal. They were held to a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland. The Romanians will play their second Nations League match on Monday away to Austria.
