PSG - OL (finale CDF) : six ans plus tôt
On July 31, OL will face PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue final. It was also a big game at this stage of the competition during the 2013-14 season, the last domestic cup final contested by Les Gones.

Defeated in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France by RC Lens (1-2), and fifth in the league after Matchday 38: OL did not have their best season in 2013-14. The only reason for satisfaction, the final of the Coupe de la Ligue. After beaten Reims (3-2), OM (2-1) and Troyes (2-1), the Rhone team were preparing to challenge PSG at the Stade de France to win their first title since the Tropheé des Champions acquired two years earlier.

On the big occasion, the stars are out: Alexandre Lacazette, Samuel Umtiti or Corentin Tolisso against Edinson Cavani, Marco Verratti or Thiago Silva. The stakes were high: PSG had not won this event since the 2007-08 season, OL, would have to go back to the famous 2000-01 season despite having lost a few finals in the meantime (2006-07, 2011 -12). Hitting the ground running, the two teams got into the match straight away and it was is the capital club  that would strike first. In the fourth minute of play, Maxwell combined with Lavezzi and set up Edinson Cavani who only had to push the ball into a goal deserted by Anthony Lopes, who had come to stop the Brazilian left back's run forward. (1-0).

Frustrated, Lyon were far from beaten. On a corner, Gomis tested Nicolas Douchez with a header but his attempt is too soft to trouble the French goalkeeper. OL's luck has passed. On a counter, Lucas was fouled by Anthony Lopes and earned a penalty that Edinson Cavani converted (2-0, 33 ’). The top scorer in the history of the competition had scored a brace and doubled the lead for his team. The two teams returned to the locker room on this score.

If there is a player to wake OL up, it would be Alexandre Lacazette. In the 56th minute of play, the striker recovered the ball in midfield, resisted the challenge of Christophe Jallet, crossed the entire Parisian half of the pitch before beating Douchez with a shot from the edge of the area (2-1). This very nice goal would nevertheless be insufficient since the teammates of Maxime Gonalons were never able to catch up. OL lost in the Coupe de la Ligue final for the third time in a row. Will the fourth be a success?
