OLTV : LES MEILLEURS PASSAGES DE SÉBASTIEN SQUILLACI DANS OLNS
Former OL defender Sébastien Squillaci was the guest on OL Night System on Thursday on OLTV. The show can be found in full on OL Play.

His impression of his career

I'm happy with the career I've had, I think I was a good player. I’ve had the chance to win titles with OL, Sevilla, Monaco… There is always the idea I could have done better but I think I have had an honorable career. I’ve had some exceptional moments. I don't care what other people think. What matters is the person I am and the impression I have left with my different clubs.

His time at OL

My spell with OL went really well, even if it's always easier when you win! I’ve been fortunate to win trophies with this group of guys. I was close to Sidney Govou, Jérémy Toulalan ... There were no clans, we all had the same goal. We knew how to say things when we needed to, but always in a positive way, it was for the good of the collective. That didn't stop us from finding ourselves outside of football. I am not surprised to see my former teammates in important positions today. More than the qualities of footballers, they all had important human qualities and that is what makes the strength of a team.

His opinion of the new generation

Young people today are different. As educators, it is up to us to adapt to them, but without forgetting fundamental values such as respect. You have to show them the things they don't know yet, you have to be more of a pedagogue. In our time, when the coach said something, we obeyed without hesitation. Now that has changed, but again, it is not really a problem if basic values are respected. Mentally, with the media and social networks, they tend to let go of themselves. Kids who will succeed tomorrow will have that mentality, and I'm here to teach them. Cristiano Ronaldo is an example in this area. He won everything, but was always the first to arrive to training and the last to leave.
