OL Reign : la NWSL annonce la reprise de la compétition avec la Challenge Cup
The National Women’s Soccer League has announced that competition will resume in the United States on June 27 for nine clubs, including OL Reign, with the NWSL Challenge Cup.

It’s almost time for OL Reign's players to return to competition. The National Women’s Soccer League has just announced that football will resume on June 27, after several weeks of the interruption of all soccer leagues, including the women's, in the United States.

OL Reign, the US women's football franchise coached by Farid Benstiti, will be entered in the NWSL Challenge Cup, a 25-game tournament with eight other league clubs. Each team will play four preliminary matches at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah to determine  a provisional ranking. The top eight teams will then advance to the quarterfinals which will be held in knockout stages. The semifinals and the final will then be played at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.

The entire competition, which will benefit from superb media exposure, will be broadcast in the United States and Canada on CBS Sports while the opening match and the final will be broadcast live on the American channel CBS. For fans outside of these two countries, including in France, it will be possible to watch the entire tournament on Twitch, a free streaming service.

On the health and safety side, all precautions have been taken. The NWSL medical task force, made up of a doctor from each of the League's nine teams, has worked tirelessly over the past nine weeks, in coordination with public health officials, to develop medical protocols and in-depth and detailed testing to ensure the safest environment for a return to  competition. Each player, official and staff member will be tested 48 hours before their departure for Utah and then again upon arrival and will be subjected to testing, temperature checks and a examination for  symptoms throughout their stay during the tournament.

The reaction of Bill Predmore, CEO of OL Reign

OL Reign is delighted to be back on the pitch and deeply appreciates the efforts of all those involved to make this tournament a reality. Our new commissioner, Lisa Baird, has assembled all the necessary elements - including attracting the support of two world-class brands - to allow the NWSL to return safely and to play in Utah this summer.
