Among the highlights was also the first team debut of Marcel Leborgne, who was just 18. The match of the season : Racing Paris-OL
On December 25, 1956, OL traveled to Paris to face Racing. The Lyon goalkeeper, Gabriel Solakian, the club's great hope for the future, was playing only his sixth professional game. At the end of the first half, a Parisian striker clattered him violently, fracturing his leg. He was subbed off, with striker Fatton going in goal. OL won 2-1, and it was a real achivement, but Gabriel Solakian would never play football again. He was only 24 years old.
