Jean Lucas : « J’ai beaucoup à donner à ce club »
Brazilian midfielder Jean Lucas reflected on his first season at OL, a place where he intends to settle for the long term.

Jean Lucas, how have been through this period?

These are very difficult times that we are all going through. I am happily with my family. We are all together. I am training every day, I play soccer volleyball. I also watch movies and series. I took the time to do something else. I'm really dedicated to getting in shape to be 100% for my club.

What was your reaction to the decision to end the Ligue 1 season?

I was very sad when I heard this news. Players love to play soccer. I was hoping for a resumption of the league season. I wanted to play again, to see my teammates again, to do what I love to do. I hope that we will soon find our passion all together.

What do you think of your first season in Lyon?

It was very special for me, my friends and my family too. It was a dream to come and play in Europe and in France. When OL called me, I was delighted. I have learned a lot from my teammates. I like to explore this city of Lyon. I have a lot to give to this club. The adaptation was easy because there are many Brazilians who have helped me starting from my arrival. Everything went pretty well.

What memories will you keep from this season?

I was already following Ligue 1 in Brazil with my family. I knew that this league was going to be very tightly contested. I wanted to play. It's hard to think of a particular moment but I will remember all the matches I have played and the goals I have scored. If I had to choose one, it would be the first against Angers. Most importantly, the day of my first match at the stadium. It was also the day when the national team called me up. It's the most wonderful day of my life. I remember this incredible set of supporters.

Why do you play in a "vintage" style with the jersey tucked into the shorts?

When I was little, I used to go to church, school, or wherever, and my mom kept telling me to put my jersey into in my shorts. I did not want to. I went and I cried. My friends made fun of me so I pulled it back out. My mother also told me that when I was on the pitch, so it stayed.

Do you have a message for the supporters in French?

I hope to see you again soon. I like you; you motivate us for every game. I miss scoring goals. I want to take a few dance steps in front of you.
