Olympique Lyonnais and Sport dans la Ville launch a FIFA20 tournament

As part of the actions taken to fight the spread of Covid-19, the Sport dans la Ville association, a partner of the OL Foundation, is launching an online tournament with young people from the Lyon metropolitan area, starting on April 28.

More than 70 young people will compete in this tournament being organized during the spring holidays, with the aim of winning a place in the final stages and thus facing off against CocoVBastos, a professional player with the LDLC OL team, and Amine Gouiri and Amel Majri, who have who answered Sport dans la Ville's call.

The goal is to remind young people, in a fun way but with a sporting challenge, of the need to stay at home and to respect the containment measures recommended by the health authorities to fight against Covid-19.

This new initiative is part of a wide range of actions supported by Olympique Lyonnais and the LDLC OL team, which have been brought out during the period  of confinement , on the initiative of various parties in the world of sport and E-sport.

Interviewed by Canal Plus, CocoVBastos, a player with Team LDLC OL, recently won the derby organized and broadcast by the channel on Sunday April 5, as well as a match against Daxe of PSG, a week later. He had already led OL to victory against Lazio in Rome in a meeting organized by the Italian club on FIFA20 in early April.

Bruno Guimaraes was also recently invited by EA Sports, the producer of the game FIFA20, to represent Olympique Lyonnais in the #Playandstay Cup, which took place from April 15 to 19. This tournament brought together 20 of the biggest European clubs, and saw the final victory go to FC Copenhagen, winning against AIK, whose player Nabil Bahoui had beaten Bruno Guimaraes in the quarterfinals.

Olympique Lyonnais reaffirms the imperative need to comply with all the directives that have been issued to limit the spread of this virus as much as possible and it supports all the personnel working on a daily basis.
