UCL : Juventus are back on top of Serie A
Olympique Lyonnais will face Juventus next Tuesday in the Round of 16 Champions League return leg after winning by the smallest of margins at Groupama Stadium in the first leg (1-0). But before that, the Bianconeris have had a big match in the league since as they this weekend faced the third-placed side in their league, none other than Inter Milan. It was a big match at the top f the table but unfortunately one played behind closed doors as Italy is on alert due to the spread of Covid-19 and the government has therefore prohibited supporters from going to Juventus Stadium to cheer on their team.
But Juventus was given anything resembling a gift in its empty arena. From the outset the Turin side were enterprising and make a better impression than the team under the charge of Antonio Conte. And it was therefore quite logical that Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates would run out winners (2-0) thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala. It was a victory that allowed Maurizio Sarri and his team to regain the lead in the standings ahead of Lazio but above all to put distance between themselves and Inter Milan who are now nine points behind the Piedmont side. It is thus with great confidence that Juventus will continue to prepare for their return match against OL, especially since Serie A has been temporarily suspended and there will therefore be no match this weekend. The Italians will therefore have more than a week of preparation before the big match in the Champions League while OL, for its part, will be in action Friday evening as part of the 29th matchday of Ligue 1 Conforama against Stade de Reims.
