Après OL – Juventus (1-0) : Un trio Tousart-Guimarães-Aouar dominant
The Lyon midfielder's three shone on Wednesday evening, contributing greatly to OL’s very strong performance against Juventus in the Champions League.

Recovery, vision and game intelligence, sombreros, nutmegs, overlaps ... the Lyon midfield showed all of this in front of the eyes of  all of Europe. For the first time, Aouar, Tousart and Guimarães were played together in last night's match against Juventus. Dominating the Turin midfield throughout the first period but also at times in the second, the three players in the Lyon midfield were determining factors for the win in this Champions League Round of 16 fixture.

First, how can one overlook Lucas Tousart's performance. Located a little higher up the pitch than usual, the young French midfielder was everywhere this Wednesday evening. He was the scorer of the one and only goal of the match thanks to a very good sense of timing. In addition to this, he fought for a lot of balls, pressed the opposing defense and linked play between defense and attack.

But there was also on the pitch Bruno Guimaraes, who was elected man of the match by the Lyon supporters. The Brazilian was playing only his second match with OL but  looked more than comfortable in the eleven concocted by Rudi Garcia. The club's winter signing was at the center of the goal scored by the Rhone club. Bringing both offensive and defensive dimensions to his play, it is sure that with performances like this, Juninho was not mistaken and recruited a top player in the making.

And to complete the massive performance by the Rhone club, who other than Houssem Aouar to display his talent at Groupama Stadium? Elected man of the match by UEFA, the number eight of Olympique Lyonnais stood out with his superb work on the left side, leading to the cross for Lucas Tousart's goal. We will also remember the nutmeg against Paulo Dybala followed by a superb pass of about 70 meters for Moussa Dembélé. Like his two partners in midfield, Houssem Aouar did not balk at making defensive efforts but was also greatly involved in the offensive play of the team.

We can therefore retain a lot of positives from this match and with a midfield as successful in the next matches, Olympique Lyonnais can only hope to do as well for the rest of the season.
