OGC NICE-OL (L1) : The post-match reactions

Published on 02 February 2020 at 12:33 PM
Following the defeat away to Nice (2-1), Lyon's players and manager spoke to OLTV to deliver their reactions on the match.

"I'm disappointed in the second period because we lost it 1-0 when we had done well to level the score and the number of men on the pitch. We were too slow in our transitions and Nice were sharper and had more determination this evening. If you want to take points on the road as we have already done, we cannot play to manage the game as we have done. We have been much too slow in our decision-making. We had the opportunities to level the score with Tete, Traoré and Marcelo. It's a shame not to have taken a point. Now we must focus on Wednesday to take precious points. The league is long so we have to get back on track quickly. "

"The second half was not good. Nice did nothing at the start of the match but the sending off put them back in the game. Then we came back but it was difficult. We weren't aggressive enough. It was the same team playing against us. They also played against us on Thursday so it was our lack of aggressiveness that made the difference. We have to be positive now, we have big matches to come. From Wednesday we have to string together wins, this is the most important thing. "

“We were lacking in the duels because they moved the ball well. We lacked motivation in the second half to go on and equalize so there are regrets. Dropping points here is annoying even if there are a lot of matches left until the end of the season. The gap is widening, and we had the opportunity to make a move today so it's a shame. We were not able to win three in a row in Ligue 1. So on Wednesday we will have to go get three points. "
