Rudi Garcia : « Ne pas se relâcher »
Two days before the Coupe de France Round of 16 match between OL and OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera, coach Rudi Garcia spoke to the press.

Medical update

Anthony Lopes won't be playing again yet; he wants to be 100% able to play. It will be Ciprian Tatarusanu in goal on Thursday. Martin Terrier will not be on the trip either, as a precaution. He has come back well from the episode he went through, but, for safety's sake, it's good to wait to be sure everything is fine. "

The match Thursday at Nice

"There are two matches in Nice this week but there is nothing to prioritize. We have to take both matches one after the other. They're a great team, and we’ll be going there to qualify for the next round. We must not relax, we are in a good run of form; we must take the opportunity to reach the quarter-finals. The peculiarity of the Coupe de France is that there can be extra time, we have to avoid that. The good thing is that both teams will have the same amount of recovery as each other before Sunday’s game. Apart from Youcef Atal, who is unfortunately injured for a long time, the others will be there. It will be a competitive Nice team. Patrick Vieira is the only one who knows whether or not he will rotate between the two matches, but whatever happens, it is up to us to be better. This Nice team is complete and dangerous. They have players who are technical and good with the ball at their feet, and size, too. Hopefully things will turn in our favor. "

Points to improve

“We are lagging when it comes to set pieces. It’s pretty good considering we’re the second-best attack in the league but we could improve that number by working on those phases of the game. We’re working on it, whether it be free kicks or corners. We are playing every three days and have not been able to do intensive training to work in these areas. We had two completely different elevens in Bordeaux and Nantes but we had two good matches. We didn't have a good first half against Toulouse but we scored three goals against none conceded. We have to be able to do keep more clean sheets so that we don't have to score three goals each time to win. There is a positive dynamic in 2020 so far, it must be continued. "

Pierre Kalulu

"I no longer need a squad review, I know my players, with a few exceptions like Melvin Bard, Rayan Cherki and Pierre Kalulu, who joined the first team a little later. I recently added Pierre to our training, but I only know him through his matches with the youngsters. He's a boy who seems to have potential. He's been playing a lot of right-back lately and we may need him in the center of defense as well. I have other players to keep fit, so I will definitely make some tough choices on Thursday. We all want Pierre to sign with us, I told him. I'm not one of those coaches who hide players because they haven't signed a professional contract. There are still three right backs in the squad, and the conditions are difficult to immediately integrate a young right back into the team. "

Lucas Tousart

"Lucas Tousart's next few matches will give us some idea of his motivation, but I don't think there will be any change. We saw him against Lille, his coming on changed the match. He is a unique player in his profile and he is very important for us, I am very happy that he will end the season with the club. "
