After OL - Toulouse : Maxwel Cornet in the 200 club

Under the direction of Hubert Fournier, Bruno Genesio, Sylvinho and now Rudi Garcia, Maxwel Cornet has always remained a faithful lieutenant to his coaches. Having arrived in January 2015, when he was only 18, Maxwel Cornet has since come a long way since, thanks to his dedication, his talent and his love of the club. As proof, the Ivorian international, only 23 years old, played this Sunday afternoon against Toulouse the 200th match in his Lyon career, five years almost to the day after his first appearance with the club. It came on January 25, 2015 during a match against Metz, the club where had made his first professional appearances.

The story was thus a good one for a player who scored his first goal on October 23, 2015 against Toulouse and who again chose the Garonne club as the opponent against whom he would celebrate his 200th appearance with a superb goal. This goal came after a nutmeg and a burst of speed on the left to bring his total to 46 goals since his arrival at OL and allows him to move to 23rd in the all-time ranking of scorers in the history of the club. In terms of matches played, he is behind Anthony Lopes (325) and ahead of Lucas Tousart (155) and Memphis (133) in the current squad.
