J-5 avant OL–Lille (CDL) : Un jour, une 1/2 finale avec OL-Le Mans en 2007
This Tuesday, January 21 at 9:10 p.m. at Groupama Stadium, OL will play against Lille in the sixth Coupe de la Ligue semifinal in its history. With five out of five qualifications in those past matches, Jean-Michel Aulas' club has always been ready to punch its ticket for the final of a competition which is currently in its last season. Here's a look back on the third of these, an OL - Le Mans matchup from the 2006-07 season.

2006-07 : OL – Le Mans 1-0

After a miraculous Round of 16 win against PSG earned in the last seconds, Gérard Houllier's men would achieve a flawless finish ahead of the final. As always untouchable in the league, where they would win their sixth title in a row, they would hardly have been worried about the reception, their third that season, of Le Mans in the semi-final. The Stade de Gerland had once again answered the call, with nearly 30,000 spectators that day. Eric Abidal had a powerful shot from from the left to score the only goal of the game to allow OL contend for the first double in its history. The story would unfortunately be different with a frustrating defeat at the Stade de France against Bordeaux.

Wednesday, January 17, 2007, Stade Gerland.

CDL (semifinal) : OL – Le Mans FC 1-0 (1-0)

Goal: Abidal (22’) for OL.

OL : Vercoutre, Abidal, Cris, Müller, Réveillère, Toulalan, Juninho (A.Diarra, 73’) (Källström, 86’), Tiago, Malouda, Fred (Clerc, 70’), Govou. Manager: Gérard Houllier.

Reserve your Coupe de la Ligue tickets for the semifinal between OL and Lille Tuesday January 21 from 21h10.
