J-6 avant OL–Lille (CDL) : Un jour, une 1/2 finale avec OL-Nantes en 2001
This Tuesday, January 21 at 9:10 p.m. at Groupama Stadium, OL will play against Lille in the sixth Coupe de la Ligue semifinal in its history. With five out of five qualifications in the past, the club of Jean-Michel Aulas has always been there when validating its ticket for the final of this competition which is in its last season. Here's a look back on the second of these matches, between OL and Nantes during the 2000-01 season.

2000-01 : OL – Nantes 3-2

Having fallen in the final five years earlier in a cruel penalty shootout against Metz, OL had the opportunity to give themselves a second chance in the competition. But the mission did not look very simple with the reception in the semifinal of Nantes, an opponent who would deprive them of the title of champion of France a few weeks later. The big match between the two leaders in the league kept all its promises. In an almost full Stade de Gerland, Jacques Santini's men were quickly behind twice but found the resources to get the win. Pierre Laigle, who scored twice, and Sonny Anderson sent their team to the Stade de France after a spectacular match.

Tuesday, April 10, 2001, Stade Gerland.

CDL (semifinal) : OL – FC Nantes 3-2 (1-2)

Goals : Laigle (5’, 64’), Anderson (54’) for OL.

OL : Coupet, Bréchet, Caçapa, Müller, Chanelet, Edmilson, Violeau, Laigle, Dhorasoo, Anderson, Marlet (Delmotte, 80’). Manager : Jacques Santini.
