Après OL – Lille (0-1) : Memphis en tête d’affiche
Despite the setback in the league with the loss to Lille, Memphis had a very eventful evening on a personal level.

The scorer of the 5000th goal honored

It was on October 23rd in a European party away to Benfica. Memphis scored the very symbolic 5000th goal in OL's history in all competitions. On Tuesday night, a few minutes before kick-off against Lille and Groupama Stadium, the Dutch international received a nice ovation and a trophy from Juninho, the sports director, and the winner of a game initiated by the OL Museum.

The captain's return from injury

Injured with the Netherlands during the last international break in mid-November, Memphis  had to postpone his return to Lyon's colors for three weeks. Selected by Rudi Garcia for the important meeting against Lille, the striker logically recovered his captain's armband before taking the pitch in good form. His first attempt, after only a few seconds of play could have even restored his status as a decisive player.

A frustrating 100th match in Ligue 1

A single goal in this duel with the keeper of Les Dogues and the evening could have been perfect for a player who celebrated his 100th appearance in Ligue 1 with OL. A few hours before the trophy given him for his 5000th goal, Memphis had received from the hands of President Jean-Michel Aulas a personalized jersey with the number 100. But despite a good performance, captain of Lyon team did not manage to add a decisive action to his totals in the league since his arrival in January 2017: 41 goals and 26 assists.
