 MATCH SUMMARY

After their success at  the Meinau, this evening was time for OL continue their marathon run of matches. For this 16th matchday of the championship, they welcomed a LOSC side who have been poor on the road. Yet to win on the road this season, Lille were coming to the Groupama Stadium to challenge a strong Olympique Lyonnais, buoyed by their last two victories and wishing to continue their form.

The match started strongly. Osimhen responded quickly to Memphis's early attempt. After a few minutes with simmering intensity, punctuated by attacks on both sides, the intensity started to fall. While OL welcomed the return of several absentees, they lost Koné to injury following a twisted ankle (25 '). Replaced by Tete, the Dutchman took his place on the left side while Rafael played on the right flank to compensate for the Malian's exit. In a first period which was physically intense, both sides were neutralized after a half played at two speeds. The players returned to the locker room with no score and would have to be more decisive in the last 30 meters to hope to score.

After a first period in which the hosts labored through inefficiency, Rudi Garcia made a tactical change and from a 4-2-3-1 to an attacking 4-3-3. Dominant, thanks to the tactical choices made at half-time, Lyon were surprised by a good move on the part of their opponent. Perfectly picked out in space some sixteen meters from goal in the center, Ikoné controlled perfectly to change the direction of the game, winning his shoulder-to-shoulder duel with Tousart and opening the score for LOSC (0-1, 69 '). The match didn't kindly for the players of Rudi Garcia. Despite  many opportunities, the ball did not find the net. Les Gones thus fell in the end (0-1) at home.

Despite good momentum following two wins against Nice and Strasbourg, the Rhodanians saw their good form stopped cold.  They are now looking towards the next match, which is just around the corner in the form of a trip to Nîmes.

. EXPERT ANALYSIS - BRYAN BERGOUGNOUX.

We stopped a winning run again after two victories, for the second time. We can not pass this hurdle. It's a shame because we are not moving up the table. It's disappointing because at no time were we able to control the match. After the first chance by Memphis and a good start, there was not much left. There is no excuse; the side lacks creativity, magic. We played at the same pace throughout the match.
