OL – LOSC : une supériorité à préserver
Historically, the matches between OL and LOSC have always resulted in close encounters -- the record of their matches is the perfect illustration of this.

This Tuesday, OL and LOSC will face off for the 91st time in their history in the top flight of French football. Over the past 90 meetings, the two clubs have engaged in fierce duels, sometimes to the advantage of one, sometimes in favor of the other and sometimes without a winner, but for a record that could hardly be more balanced.

With 33 wins in L1, at home and away, Lyon have a slight advantage from a historical point of view on thier opponent of the day. But Lille's success at Groupama Stadium, where the northern club has never lost, would put the two teams on perfectly level terms. Indeed, LOSC have 32 wins, only one less than OL, against 25 draws.

This match which awaits the two side will be the opportunity for the Gones to assert a little more their domination against Les Dogues. And if they have not beaten them yet in their new stadium, OL have generally performed rather well at home against Lille.

Playing at home Lyon have won 25 matches against 12 draws and 8 defeats, while the record in Lille is about the same but in the opposite direction, with 24 successes, 13 draws and 8 victories. But by scrutinizing all the matches played at home in the league, some figures are obvious.

First of all, OL have the habit of scoring against Lille. Between the Rhône and Saone, the two teams have only drawn five times without scoring Lyon have lost only 3 matches without finding the northerners' net. And as we have seen, of the 37 games in which they have scored, OL have won many times (25 successes).

But the Rhodanians hope to have a better result if they score at least two goals at LOSC, which has been successful in the past as they have never lost in this case (22 games with at least 2 goals scored for a total of 19 wins and 3 draws). And if they managed to find the net a third time, then success would be almost assured, since they have always won (3 games with 3 goals or more, all successful).

The attacking power of OL, which we are used to highlighting, has been demonstrated once again in these confrontations with Lille. Les Gones have an average of more than 1.8 goals scored per game and have finished almost half of their games against LOSC with at least 2 goals (22 games with 2 goals for OL out of the 45 played in Lyon in the league). It will therefore be up to the men of Rudi Garcia to confirm the reputation of the club on this level.
