 MATCH SUMMARY .

It's a duel that one could not not lose. A clash at the top between a the established leader and an outsider. At the start of this meeting, Lyon and PSG were on equal points (22) and only separated by goal difference, in favor of OL (+4 compared to Paris). The goal of the day, then, is clear: show superiority. Olympique Lyonnais, who have reigned unchallenged over France for thirteen seasons, intend to continue its domination without giving up first place in the table.

From the beginning of the match, the battle is raging. In front of a record crowd for a Women's D1 Arkema match (30,661 spectators), the two teams go blow for blow but neither really take advantage of the other. OL attack from the wings but their crosses do not find their targets in the heart of the area. The Parisians have some answers and play their luck on the counter. However, nothing manages to worry Sarah Bouhaddi. Deprived of Wendie Renard, the hosts must also do without Eugénie Le Sommer from the half hour mark, the captain on the night being forced off injured and replaced by Delphine Cascarino. Despite the absence of these two important players, Les Fenottes do not let the pace drop and continue their attacks. Faced with a well-disciplined opposing block, the players of Jean-Luc Vasseur were kept quiet and returned to the locker room on a disappointing 0-0. It will be their job to be sharper in the second half to hope to win.

The recovery starts in the best possible way. On a corner by Dzsenifer Marozsan to the far post, Saki Kumagai rises and places a powerful header into the goal (1-0, 49 '). Following that, the substitute Cascarino fails to double the lead on a first-time shot that hits the crossbar (51 '). After this new opportunity, the Lyon decline in intensity, leaving room for a Parisian recovery. Regardless, the Buchanan - Mbock axis is unmoved. Introduced in the absence of the captain Renard, the Canadian is decisive in clearing a ball from her line that allows OL to keep the advantage in the score (75 ').

In a meeting that was expected to tight, OL stood out, taking advantage of an opponent's weakness to register the only goal of the meeting. Lyon showed character during this big match against their rivals. Sure of their strength, they widened the gap between they and their opponent and gained confidence for the rest of the season.

 THE REACTIONS

Jean-Luc Vasseur

"To dominate is not to win. We must always score and that's what we did today. We fought against a PSG side that was organized. We are delighted with the result. This shows the difference between the two teams. The gap is narrowing. I think it was a good match. There were not many goals but there were a lot of chances. We went through several emotions but we are happy in the end. "

Dzsenifer Marozsan

"I needed a crutch. It was hard to continue. I was not 100% and I preferred to come off so as not to penalize the team. I said yesterday that I wanted to find another head other than that of Wendie (Renard) on a corner. And I'm glad it happened for Saki (Kumagai). It's never easy against PSG but we gave everything. "

Ada Hegerberg

"It's a beautiful victory. We really deserved it. Playing in front of so many people, it gives us chills. We thank them. We would like to play all our matches with such an atmosphere. Regarding the match, we could have been more aggressive to get a second goal. But it's nice to be first in the championship. Once again, we are responding to the occasion. It's good to continue like this after the break. "

Amandine Henry

"We always feel good after a win. It took a long time to score but we could then move forward. We knew that if we opened the scoring, the Parisian side would bend. I felt very good in the middle. Saki (Kumagai) did a lot of work and Dzsenifer (Marozsan) too. It's a treat to play with them. We know that we can count on each other. That's our strength. Now, we must not rest on our laurels. "
